Experiments with p5.js
I was inspired by sudden weather changes in Pittsburgh. This clock made of cloud, rain, thunder, and sun, all made from nature; not man-made. Each of them represents different units of time. Rain represents second, the white line rains per second. Sun makes circular white internal lines as hours go by. Thunder makes white outlines as minutes go by.
Project Noise
For this project, I made a sound interactive piece. I was inspired by the noise pollution called “environmental noise”. Environmental noise is the summary of noise pollution from outside, caused by transport, industrial and recreational activities. I thought that it would be very fascinating to connect the polluted environment with polluted sound. I wanted to have illustrations of trees in different shapes and the pattern for the background. I depicted the raining effect by having the color changes from black & white to rainbow color palette. My intent in creating this color-changing effect was to visually represent pollution being drawn down as rain approaches the ground.
Project Object Empathy
In my object empathy project, I decided to use my glasses as my primary medium because of the empathy I feel for the objects that I use most often. With the exception of sleep and the occasions I use contact lenses, I always wear my glasses. There are multicolored ellipses moving on both lenses of my glasses. I projected two different images for each lens. The left lens represents daytime while the right lens represents nighttime. I then projected bundles of coded ellipses above the pair.
